Playing Rugby
Ripon Rugby Club has three full sized pitches along with additional training areas, and the first team pitch is the envy of other Yorkshire clubs. The club also has a reciprocal sharing arrangement with Ripon Grammar School and have access to further training pitches courtesy of the army.
The changing rooms have been recently extended with the addition of three new changing rooms with en-suite showers and toilets. This means the club now has 6 changing rooms, a referee’s room and a separate physio room.
Social Occasions
The newly extended clubhouse features a new function room which can accommodate up to 100 guests and is proving popular for local functions. It is also suitable for hosting local business meetings. Catering can be provided and the new kitchen is of a very high commercial standard.
There are two plasma screen televisions which are ideal for business presentations or simply enjoying live rugby on Sky Sports.
The club’s prime location (5 minute walk from city centre) coupled with ample parking makes it an ideal venue.
The main bar stocks a selection of beers, wines and other drinks with pride of place going to Theakston’s Ale.
The more intimate Andy Mawson bar is the haunt of “the old farts” and the place where the world is put to rights on a Sunday morning. How and when you actually qualify as an “old fart” is a discussion best had in the Mawson bar itself!
