Theakstons
The Independent brewer is the official sponsor of Ripon Rugby Club and recently formalised the long standing relationship with a 5 year contract which will bring together more than 300 years of sporting and brewing history. The deal includes supply rights of its cask ales in the clubhouse, formalising a supply chain that has been in place for over 50 years.
Simon Theakston, Executive Director of T&R Theakston, said; “Ripon Rugby Club is very close to our hearts as it has been our one of our longest standing customers, we are delighted to formalise our relationship through this 5 year sponsorship deal. We wish members every success for the 2007-2008 season.”
Theakstons was established in Masham, North Yorkshire in 1827 and is one of the country’s oldest and most highly regarded traditional ale brewers. Its history is a perfect complement to that of Ripon Rugby Club which, founded in 1886, is one of the oldest clubs in existence.
There are five permanent brands in the Theakston range and each one is brewed to an individual recipe. The iconic Old Peculier and XB are available in cask and bottle. Also available are Best Bitter, Mild and Black Bull Bitter along with a range of seasonal ales designed to provide variety and choice.
The club is indebted to it's numerous other sponsors who are involved in sponsorship of programmes, match days, playing kit, advertising boards, junior rugby and the summer ball. We are currently compiling a comprehensive list of all of these sponsors which will be published here shortly.
