Ripon RUFC Player Behaviour Policy
At Ripon RUFC we encourage all players:
- to be responsible for their own actions
- to have pride in their own performance
- to have a healthy attitude towards learning
- to have respect for other people and their property
- to be polite and helpful
- to keep the club tidy
- and to always do their best
We expect everyone to set a good example at our Club and at other Clubs.
This policy is:-
- a structure to establish effective communication between players and Ripon RUFC coaches and helpers.
- an agreement whereby standards are consistently applied.
- an agreement whereby coaches and helpers will adopt a positive attitude towards players and will always deal with inappropriate behaviour in a consistent manner.
What is Inappropriate Behaviour?
Below is a "Players Code" which all players are expected to adhere to. Any deviation from this code will be deemed inappropriate.
Players Code
- Participate for the fun of it, not just to please your parents or coach.
- Play to the Laws/Rules of the Game.
- Accept all the referees decisions.
- Control your temper and never use inappropriate language or physical violence.
- Recognise all good play, whether by your team or your opponents team - be a good sport.
- Treat all players how you would like to be treated. Don’t interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of any player.
- Remember as well as enjoyment the aims of the game are to improve your skills and feel good. Do not be a show off.
- Co-operate with your coach, referee, team mates and opponents for without them you don’t have a game.
- Work equally hard for yourself and your team - your teams performance will benefit and so will your own.
